Dr. Xa Xiong BA, DC, MD

Passionate About Inspiring Others

Dr. Xa Xiong is the son of Captain Yong Ge Xiong and Yer Kue.  In 1980, Dr. Xiong immigrated with his

family to the United States and resettled in Santa Ana, California.  He graduated from Valley High

School in 1986 along with a Medical Assisting Certificate and further obtained his Bachelor of Arts

degree in Biology and Chemistry from Concordia University.  Dr. Xiong conferred his Doctor degree

in Chiropractic Medicine in 1994.  He further pursued his medical career in 1997 and conferred his

Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2000 from Spartan Health Sciences University, School of Medicine.  He completed his Family Practice Residency at the University of Wisconsin Fox Valley Family Medicine Program.  Dr. Xiong is an American Board Family Medicine Board Certified and practicing as a Family Physician in Stevens Point, Wisconsin where he provides medical services to all ages.


Dr. Xiong is the founder of the “Dr. Xa Xiong’s Foundation: A Quest for Education.”  The mission of this

foundation is to inspire and empower people to achieve the highest vision in the context of Life.  He uses the

acronym iLIFE to represent individual health, Leadership, Income, Family, and Education as the force

elements that lead to success.  Through his schooling experiences he created the “Educational Cascade Model”

in 1996 to guide students in achieving in higher education.  Dr. Xiong also emphasizes on five levels of education

and how to pursue them to the highest level with the shortest amount of schooling and expenses.

According to Dr. Xiong, “Education is a collection of knowledge that makes up a master key to open many doors in life.”

 

Over the last 30 years, Dr. Xiong has been invited as a keynote speaker and has giving over 600 hundreds speeches for many occasions ranging from community events to college graduations.  He has received numerous awards for his high academic achievements and services toward the communities.  In 2011 he received the “JOURNEY OF HOPE AWARD” by Eloise Anderson, Secretary of the State of Wisconsin - Department of Children and Families.   On January 31st, 2011, he was selected to address the Hmong Youth in Honorary General Vang Pao in Appleton, Wisconsin.  On August 20, 2011 Dr. Xiong received the Mayor's “COMMENDATION" AWARD by the honorable Mayor Justin M. Nickels of Manitowoc, WI.  In 2007, Dr. Xiong was listed as one of the five most accomplished Hmong Americans in the book The Hmong: Coming to America by Kaarin Alisa.  He is also a co-author of the book Ethnicity and the Dementias - Working with Hmong American Families, which provides cultural information for health care providers working with Hmong clients experiencing dementia.  Dr. Xiong was featured in several newspapers including the Wisconsin State Journal 2004 – “Physician ministers to the Hmong” and  2005 – “Medical residency is fruition of refugee camp promise”, July 2005 - the Appleton Post Crescent – “Rookie Docs – Hmong doctor bridges culture gap” and August 19, 2008 in the Herald Times Reporter - "Journey of achievement from Laos to Manitowoc - Hmong physician will be treating individuals of all ages, backgrounds".

 

Dr. Xiong is married to Choua Yang, AA, CA, NA.  They have 5 children: Dr. Elizabeth Xiong, MD, Einstein Xiong – majoring in Biology, Emily Xiong, BS, MS, Elena Xiong – majoring in Biology, and Alexander Xiong – Senior High School.  Although Dr. Xiong is working as a full-time Physician, a husband, and a father, he continues his quest to inspire and empower others to pursue in higher education by being a keynote speaker, giving lectures on health education, bridging healthcare gap, and participating in community organizations to build a better future for the community.
